Iron removal with filler material birm — economical solution for water with iron. Electronic chronometric head.
Iron removal with filler material birm — economical solution for water with iron. Electronic chronometric head.
Birm is catalytic agent: does not retain iron, accelerates its oxidation so that it precipitates and is retained in the bed. This makes it the cheapest iron removal material, but with one condition that determines success: the water must contain dissolved oxygen and the pH must be above 6,8. In a closed well without ventilation, Birm simply does not work. Regeneration is just backwashing, without chemicals, with electronic chronometric headSizes 43, 71, 85 and 114 liters at 2 m³/h.

The birm is an economical and efficient iron retention agent. It works catalytically: it oxidizes the dissolved ferric iron so that it is retained in the column and removed by backwashing. It is not chemically consumed — it only requires periodic flushing.
The signs are brown-red stains in sinks and basins, a metallic taste and cloudy water that clears if left in a glass. Manganese gives black stains. Certainty comes only with a water analysis — send it to us and we will recommend the appropriate means.
Birm is the most economical and removes only iron. Green Sand Plus removes iron and manganese. Pyrolox Advantage has the highest oxidizing capacity and also treats hydrogen sulfide (crate egg smell), without chemical additives.
It is a mixture of five materials in one column: it simultaneously removes iron, manganese, ammonia, organics and hardness. It is the solution where the water has complex problems and there is no room for two or three separate columns.
When the analysis shows nitrates above the limit of 50 mg/l — common in wells near crops. Nitrates are particularly dangerous for infants, so their treatment should not be postponed.
Yes, with a GEH (granular iron hydroxide) medium that adsorbs it with very high selectivity. The medium is not regenerated — it is replaced when saturated, depending on concentration and consumption.
Almost always. In borehole water, the sand filter goes in first for suspended solids, and the activated carbon for chlorine and odors. This protects the subsequent stages — softener or osmosis — and makes them last much longer.
